Alumni Board Updates
Dear Alumni Brothers of Sigma Pi,
I wanted to update you regarding the status of our chapter and house. It has been an interesting year, and given the tragic death of a fellow Penn State Greek pledge in February that sparked national news, we expect many changes to fraternity and sorority life at Penn State for years to come.
This summer, we followed up last year’s maintenance and improvement efforts to maintain our fraternity’s 84 year old structure and property by focusing on areas that are safety-related.
Sigma Pi Theta Chapter couldn’t be more proud of the brothers who are serving or have served in the armed forces.
It was another great day in Happy Valley for the 18th anniversary of the Chris Hull Memorial Sigma Pi Open.
On 12 November 2016, a military ceremony was held on the front lawn of Theta Chapter to officially dedicate the Wilford Beisel World War II Memorial Flagpole and Plaque. Attached to the three foot high stone base of the flagpole is a brass plaque adorned with the Sigma Pi coat of arms and the names of the ninety-three brothers of Theta Chapter who were veterans of World War II.
